Responsibilities and duties of the Solar Maintenance Engineer role

Astute's Renewables Team is partnering with a growing solar operations and maintenance business with a strong commitment to safety and service quality. The organisation is looking to recruit a Solar Maintenance Engineer based in South England.

Reporting to the Hiring Manager you will :

Deliver mobile planned and reactive maintenance across a range of commercial solar PV sites

Carry out maintenance inspections, fault finding, repairs, upgrades, and installation works

Work on both single-phase and three-phase commercial rooftop solar PV systems

Communicate professionally with clients on site, responding to queries and providing clear updates

Identify, report, and log defects and remedial actions during service visits

Accurately complete all work-related documentation, including inspection reports and maintenance logs

Follow all health & safety procedures, permits to work, and safe systems of working

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following :

Proven experience in a solar PV maintenance or electrical maintenance role

Electrical qualifications such as a Level 3 Award, 18th Edition (or equivalent)

Strong understanding of health & safety regulations, permit-to-work systems, and risk assessments

Full UK driving licence

Willingness to work away from home on occasions
