Job description

Red Bull Technology is inviting candidates to apply for Student Placement positions within its Technology and Analysis Tools department. The position is targeted towards students studying Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related degree. Candidates will require excellent software development skills and a solid grasp of fundamental computer science concepts. Knowledge of programming languages like C# and/or Python would be advantageous.

The successful candidate will develop skills in problem solving, creativity, teamwork, planning, innovation, and communication whilst performing the following tasks:

  • Building software that is used to improve vehicle performance and support aerodynamic and power unit development
  • Training machine learning model that are actively used during race weekends
  • Providing support for race and test events throughout the year in the Ops Room

Candidates will have to an opportunity to gain exposure to and learn modern software development techniques, including:

  • Test-driven development
  • Lean software development
  • SOLID design principles
  • Code reviews

And a modern technology stack, including:

  • Kubernetes, Apache Kafka and DevOps techniques
  • GraphQL and other API technologies
  • Apache Arrow
  • Machine Learning frameworks like TensorFlow
