We are looking for an Android Engineer to join our Business Onboarding team.

The business onboarding team is dedicated to guide business through setting up Wise and resolving their first international money needs in a way that’s clear, easy and delightful. Software engineers, data analysts, and designers collaborate on a daily basis to continuously improve our onboarding flows and processes.

Our team builds customer-facing systems that onboard more than 1.3 million users a month - and as one of the Senior engineers in the team, you’ll play a fundamental role in shaping their experience with Wise.

We are looking for an Android engineer who can work closely with product, design and analytics to shape and build Wise’s onboarding experience.

As an Android engineer, you will:
  • Collaborate closely with product, design, analytics and other teams across the company to deliver impactful experiences to Wise’s customers - as a cross functional team
  • Take responsibility for the overall health and quality of the Android codebase that power Wise’s onboarding experience
  • Work closely with your lead to own Wise’s Android onboarding product flows and architecture and help shape your team’s technical roadmap
  • Work with the wider Android Guild at Wise to maintain and evolve the Android codebase and ecosystem is clean, maintainable, and efficient to maintain application performance, responsiveness, load times, and stability.
What do you need?
  • Experience in building and deploying a native Android app.
  • Proficiency in building Android apps in Kotlin.
  • Familiarity with modern app architectures like Unidirectional Data Flow, Dependency Injection, Structured Concurrency with Kotlin Coroutines, amongst others
  • Ability to define and implement good test strategies, including the appropriate use of unit tests, integration tests, UI tests, and snapshot tests where appropriate.
  • A strong product mindset and passion for user experience—you prioritise work with users in mind.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to introduce technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to both collaborate effectively with your team and solve problems independently and proactively.
Nice to Have
  • Experience with Jetpack Compose.
  • Experience collaborating with other platforms like Web or iOS
  • Experience with API design and concepts like RESTful APIs, Backend for Frontend, etc.
