A leading engineering firm in the UK is seeking a Software Engineer to support software application development aimed at enhancing customer experience. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Computer Science or related field, with at least 3 years of C# programming experience and strong communication skills. Software Engineer Role Overview

This is an exciting stand‑alone role, having excellent communication skills to work well within the multi‑disciplined engineering team supporting the vast range of existing high‑quality products and new product development.

You will play a vital role in the development of software applications to enhance the customer experience.

The role covers data‑acquisition application development for both new and existing applications covering a multitude of engineering disciplines working closely with various departments to develop high grade software solutions.

Software Engineer Hours, Pay and Benefits
  • £37,000 - £45,000 (dependant on experience)
  • 37 hours per week, 8:00am - 4:30pm Monday to Thursday, with a 1pm finish on Friday (this is a full‑time in office role)
  • Benefits include: above average employer pension contribution of 6.5%, above average holiday allowance of 26 days plus bank holidays, 3 x salary life assurance, company bonus.

Software Engineer Essential Candidate Experience
  • The Software Engineer will hold a Degree in Computer Science or related subject (or relevant experience).
  • At least 3 years experience programming in C# / embedded applications development.
  • At least 1 year s experience with Windows forms.
  • Knowledge of serial/USB communication.
  • Familiarity of version control software SVN, git and DevOps Azure.
  • Solid grasp of development lifecycles from gathering requirements to release and testing.
  • Proven ability to work independently and deliver complete solutions.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
Software Engineer Desirable Candidate Experience
  • Experience of creating Android/iOS Apps.
  • Knowledge of engineering software, STEM education tools, or scientific instrumentation.
  • DAQ hardware, or PLC systems.
  • C, C++, Delphi.
  • MATLAB or LabVIEW.
  • WPF or MAUI.
  • Understanding of licensing and packaging.
