Job description

We're looking for a Software Development Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of software projects that support critical self-service technologies used across the banking, retail and financial services sector.

At Cennox, you'll join a progressive and ambitious organisation delivering services including Managed Services, ATM Installation & Maintenance, Security, Signage and Branch solutions. This is a key leadership role in a fastmoving, evolving environment where new technologies and innovative thinking are encouraged.

The role

You’ll be responsible for leading the design, development and enhancement of our self-service estate software, ensuring solutions are robust, secure and highly available. You’ll plan and deliver projects and change initiatives from concept through to deployment, managing timelines, budgets, risks and stakeholders throughout.

Working closely with internal teams, senior stakeholders and third‑party suppliers, you’ll ensure high quality outcomes are delivered on time and in line with business and regulatory expectations. You’ll also play an active role in building, motivating and developing high performing teams, while driving continuous improvement across both technology and ways of working.

While the role is office based in Leeds, some travel and occasional out of hours work may be required.

About you

You’ll have experience delivering software in Agile or scaled Agile environments and be confident leading teams through complex, time‑sensitive delivery. You’ll bring solid technical knowledge, with experience in object‑oriented programming such as C++, C# or Java, and be comfortable working with tools like Jira and Confluence.

Experience in regulated or high‑stakes environments is important, as is the ability to remain calm under pressure and translate business needs into practical technical solutions. Knowledge of technologies such as ISO8583, XFS, NDC or EMV would be highly desirable.

Above all, you’ll be a collaborative leader with a passion for continuous improvement, innovation and delivering high quality software that makes a real impact.

If this sounds like the kind of environment you would feel comfortable in, we’d welcome hearing from you.

What we offer
  • Company van, tools, phone and laptop
  • Regular overtime at enhanced rates
  • 9% pension (combined)
  • Life assurance, gym discounts & healthcare options
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • A welcoming, inclusive culture where your ideas matter
