A local authority in Scotland seeks a motivated social worker to join its Pathways Project. The role involves supporting individuals convicted of sexual offences, conducting risk assessments, and collaborating with various agencies. Candidates must have a BA (Hons) in Social Work, relevant experience, and the ability to work flexible hours. This is an integral position to enhance public safety and reduce recidivism.
Following internal promotion, we have a vacancy within our long-established Pathways Project. The Pathways Project works exclusively with people who are convicted of sexual offences to protect the public and reduce sexual recidivism. Pathways has three core functions:
In order to fulfil these core functions we are seeking a highly motivated individual with sound social work values. It is essential that you have a BA (Hons) in Social Work or equivalent; be registered with the SSSC, have experience working with those who have been involved in sexually offending and experience in multi-agency working. The post requires the ability to undertake some evening work within the 35 hours, and to attend and achieve proficiency in relevant training. Competence in undertaking Moving Forward 2 Change, and the range of relevant risk assessment tools such as SA07, RM2000 and LSCMI is desirable.
Experience of interventions with those with a range of issues such as addiction, housing, and employability issues is desirable, as is experience of writing reports to courts and the Parole Board. Experience in child and adult protection is also desirable.
As this post involves access and use of ViSOR and involvement in MAPPA cases, preferred candidates will be required to undergo the Non-Police Personnel Vetting, currently NPPV (full) level 2. Ongoing review will be required in line with agreed Home Office standards at that time.
