Overview

Sanctuary Personnel is seeking a Locum Hospital Social Worker within the Learning Disabilities and Autism Team based in Surrey/Redhill. This is a full-time, ongoing locum role in an acute hospital setting, with a focus on quick yet safe discharges and experience with the Care Act and MCA frameworks. The hospital serves East and Mid Surrey as well as West Sussex.

Location: Surrey/Redhill, UK

What you will do
  • Manage the discharge of adults from East Surrey Hospital, ensuring robust support systems are in place upon their return home.
  • Employ strengths-based practices with a focus on customer service while navigating acute healthcare systems.
  • Undertake risk management for clients wishing to remain at home, providing evidence for alternative options when necessary.
  • Conduct Mental Capacity Act assessments and Care Act assessments to uphold legal and ethical standards.
  • Engage in regular ward attendance and perform home visits to coordinate with carers, healthcare providers, and other specialists.
  • Work on complex cases involving high turnover, maintaining a close liaison with adults, families, and specialist teams.
