Key Responsibilities:

  • Preventing placement breakdowns by providing targeted support to children in care and their foster carers or hosts.
  • Delivering consistent supervision, support, and reviews, including attendance and presentations at the Fostering/Supported Lodgings Panel.
  • Demonstrating exceptional organisational and communication skills to meet deadlines and produce thorough written reports.
  • Following safeguarding procedures rigorously, escalating concerns appropriately, and contributing to the development of Foster Carers and Supported Lodgings Hosts through training sessions.
  • Promoting the safety and wellbeing of children and young people, addressing their physical, emotional, and mental health needs.
  • Working collaboratively within multi-professional teams to support children in thriving within kinship or mainstream foster families.
  • Building meaningful relationships with children, young people, their carers, and relevant professionals to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Undertaking direct work with children and carers on issues such as family conflict, breakdown, behaviour concerns, school attendance, emotional health, and risk of exploitation.
  • Supporting children and young people with a strengths-based, therapeutic approach.
  • Escorting, supervising, or transporting children when necessary, as part of planned interventions.
  • Discussing expenditure proposals with the budget holder and seeking approvals where required.

Requirements:
