An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Social Worker to join the Child Protection & Looked After Children (LAC) Team in Dalkeith, Midlothian. This ongoing locum position offers the flexibility to work full-time or part-time, making it ideal for professionals seeking to balance impactful work with personal commitments. You will play a crucial role in safeguarding children, supporting families, and promoting positive outcomes in a vibrant and community-focused setting.

Key Responsibilities

Undertake assessments and develop care plans for children subject to child protection and LAC procedures.

Collaborate with families, educational institutions, and partner agencies to ensure child safety and promote well-being.

Participate in multi-disciplinary meetings and court proceedings as required.

Provide consistent support, intervention, and guidance to children, young people, and their families.

Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in line with statutory requirements.

Qualified Social Worker with registration to a recognised UK regulatory body (e.g. Social Work England, SSSC).

Experience in child protection and/or LAC teams.

Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, policy, and best practice.

Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a multi-agency environment.

Excellent communication, assessment, and case management skills.
