Overview

Location: Tredomen House. Team: 16 Plus Team. This position offers an excellent opportunity to become part of our team and provide support across the organization. Salary: £39,152 - £41,771 with an additional £3,551 annual market supplement. The post is a social work role within the 16plus team, focusing on supporting young people in care who are Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children (UASC). The role requires you to support looked-after asylum seeking children aged 16 plus in making a successful transition to adulthood, and to support 18+ care leavers in their transition to adulthood while preparing young people for outcomes related to their immigration status. You will provide a high-quality service in relation to all aspects of the assessment and care management process to meet the needs of unaccompanied asylum seeking children and care-experienced young people.

Responsibilities
  • Support looked-after asylum seeking children aged 16 plus in transitioning to adulthood.
  • Support 18+ care leavers in their transition to adulthood and prepare for outcomes related to immigration status.
  • Provide a high-quality service across the assessment and care management process to meet the needs of UASC and care-experienced young people.
Qualifications
  • Diploma/Degree in Social Work or predecessor.
  • Excellent communication skills with children, young people, their families/carers and professionals.
  • Experience of multi-agency working.
  • Must be registered as a Social Worker with Social Care Wales (or able to transfer from another recognised body). Completion of Consolidation of Practice qualification within the first 3 years of practice is mandatory if qualified after 1 April 2016.
