Job summary

A public service organization in Bolton is seeking a dedicated individual for a fixed-term role focused on supporting Young People transitioning to adulthood. Overview

Grade: H scp 27 £38,220 - £41,771 plus Essential Car User Allowance up to £963pa. Contract: Fixed term 12 months. This role requires some occasional evening/weekend work. Essential Requirement: Full Driving Licence. Essential Qualification: CQSW/DIPSW/SW Degree or equivalent.

The Role

This is a busy and dynamic team offering a statutory service to Looked After Children and Care Leavers some of whom have very complex needs.

We work with Young People from the age of 16 potentially up to 25 with the aim of effecting a smooth transition to adulthood for our Care Leavers.

About You
  • You should have excellent communication skills and a persistent approach when engaging with resistance.
  • We support Young People to make constructive plans for their future and we are committed to gaining positive outcomes in all aspects of their life including health, accommodation, education employment and training.
  • You should therefore be able to show assessment, planning and intervention skills to meet needs and address risk.
  • You should be passionate about helping Young People be aspirational and and strive towards attainment.
  • You should also feel comfortable in tackling complex and challenging needs, risks and behaviours. You will need to understand the disadvantage faced by Care Leavers, many of whom have had traumatic life experiences, and be able to work creatively and collaboratively to redress this balance.
