Responsibilities
  • Undertake ongoing assessments and interventions with children and families to ensure the right services are accessed at the right time.
  • Progress children’s plans, ensuring the voice of the child is integral to case planning.
  • Visit and work with families as needed, assessing and reassessing the needs of children looked after by the local authority.
  • Act as a Case Manager and co-ordinate appropriate review meetings.
  • Serve as a Key Worker where a Children Looked After Plan is in operation.
  • Provide and contribute to Child & Family Assessments.
  • Develop methods for identifying and assessing children in need as per the Children’s Services Plan.
  • Offer information and advice to assist children and families in resolving issues.
  • Liaise with other agencies on behalf of service users, coordinating resources and arranging assistance.
  • Carry out duties as authorised by senior management.
  • Present evidence and reports to courts as required.
  • Participate in the team’s Duty system as needed.
  • Maintain computerised records and documentation according to approved policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with parents, guardians, carers, and other professionals regarding Children Looked After and maintain records as required.
