Social Work Assistant – Cardif

Location: Cardiff

Hours: Monday to Friday (37 hours)

Salary: £120 - £125 Per Day

Contract: 3-Month Contract (with potential extension)

Cardiff is looking for a Social Work Assistant to join our supportive Adult Services team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with transferable skills—from care, support work, customer-facing roles, community work, health, education, housing, or similar—who is passionate about helping others.

You do not need to be a qualified social worker to apply.

If you enjoy working with people, solving problems, and supporting individuals to live independently, this role could be the perfect next step in your career.

About the Role
  • Providing person-centred, strengths-based support
  • Helping people identify their goals and what matters to them
  • Assisting with wellbeing and basic risk assessments (full training provided)
  • Supporting social workers with care and treatment planning
  • Managing a small caseload appropriate to your experience
  • Visiting people in their homes or community settings
  • Encouraging independence, resilience, and recovery
  • Working closely with families, carers, and professionals
  • Keeping clear, accurate records of the work you carry out
  • Participating in team meetings, supervision, and ongoing training

You will be part of a friendly, supportive team that works together to improve the wellbeing of older adults and vulnerable individuals in Cardiff.

Who We’re Looking For

You don’t need previous social care experience—but it’s helpful. We welcome people from roles such as :

Volunteering or community engagement
