Social Video Producer, Sport - 1 Year FTC

The social video producer role forms an important part of The Times and The Sunday Times digital content creation strategy, responsible for scripting, filming and editing high-quality social-first video for the Times Sport’s social media channels.

The ideal candidate will have a demonstrable understanding of social media strategy and be able to edit social first videos that are in line with The Times Sport brand on social.

You will have experience in filming and editing creative social video content. Social strategy skills are essential.

Key skills and responsibilities
  1. Proficiency in social video editing including knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro; basic understanding of Adobe After Effects is also desirable
  2. Skilled in social media management and strategy
  3. Strong organisational skills and a proactive attitude towards managing equipment and resources, ensuring that productions run smoothly and efficiently
  4. Strong storytelling abilities and a keen eye for detail, with the ability to translate stories into visually compelling narratives as well as the ability to create social only content that will engage our target audience.
  5. Have a strong understanding of the Times Sport brand
  6. Understanding of issues related to sports rights, licensing and law
  7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team of reporters, and colleagues across the newsroom
  8. Know how to produce engaging YouTube video segments (explainers, pieces to camera) around current sporting topics
  9. Have a positive, flexible attitude to your work and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and tight deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
