We are looking for a Social Therapist to join our team at Cygnet Hospital Ealing.

As a Social Therapist, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team on an in‑patient ward, with supervision, support and training you will deliver interventions defined within the personalised care plan, spend time engaging, connecting and supporting service users, families, carers and friends through their recovery pathway. You will help facilitate activities/groups and ward‑based projects and be actively involved in every aspect of their physical, psychological and social care of people who use our service.

You will be expected to work 38.5 hours a week (Days and night shifts)

Cygnet Hospital Ealing provides a welcoming, non-institutional environment, offering personalised treatment for service users with an eating disorder or personality disorder over two separate wards.

Day‑to‑day responsibilities
  • Assess service users for social therapy as part of a multidisciplinary needs assessment
  • Plan & deliver social therapy observations & activities & determine their effectiveness
  • Provide a variety of individual & group therapy work relating to social situations
  • Monitor, evaluate & adapt ongoing clinical work according to each individual's needs
  • Attend clinical meetings & communicate with colleagues, agencies & families/carers
  • Comply with the codes of practice
Qualifications & Experience
  • Qualified in Social Therapy – Degree/Postgraduate Diploma/Masters or equivalent
  • Registered with the HCPC (Health Care Professions Council)
  • Experienced within a care environment, or with a passion for working in this setting
  • A UK driving licence holder who can escort service users on visits & trips when required
  • Preferably experienced in a multidisciplinary team & in an evidence‑based framework
