Job description
Content Creator (Travel & Lifestyle)

UK-based, frequent travel — UK + international

Role Summary

We’re looking for a creative, self-sufficient Content Creator to plan, shoot, edit, and publish high-performing travel content across social platforms. You’ll be hands‑on from idea to final cut: building storylines, filming on location, editing fast, and packaging content that actually gets watched, saved, and shared. This role involves regular travel across the UK and occasional international trips.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create short‑form and long‑form travel content (Reels/TikTok/Shorts + YouTube where needed).
  • Pitch and develop content ideas based on trends, seasonality, and audience interests.
  • Plan shoots: locations, shot lists, scripts/hooks, voiceover beats, and travel logistics.
  • Film on location (solo or with a small team) using a phone/camera + portable audio setup.
  • Edit content end‑to‑end: cutdowns, captions, pacing, sound design, colour correction, and exports per platform.
  • Write captions and titles with strong hooks, CTAs, and SEO basics (especially for YouTube).
  • Manage a content calendar and deliver weekly/monthly output targets.
  • Repurpose and resize content across platforms efficiently (one shoot → many assets).
  • Maintain brand style: consistent tone, visuals, and messaging.
  • Track performance (views, retention, saves, CTR) and iterate based on what’s working.
  • Coordinate with partners/venues/tourism boards when required (briefs, deliverables, usage rights).
What You’ll Create
  • Travel itinerary content (weekend trips, city guides, hidden gems, budget vs luxury)
  • Hotel/stay reviews, transport tips, packing hacks
  • Food + experiences + “day in the life” travel storytelling
  • Voiceover explainers, on‑camera pieces, and cinematic b‑roll edits
  • UGC‑style partner deliverables (if applicable)
Required Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience creating and editing content (portfolio required).
  • Strong editing skills using tools like CapCut, Premiere Pro, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve (any is fine if output is great).
  • Confident shooting video (framing, movement, b‑roll coverage, basic lighting).
  • Solid audio habits (lav mic / shotgun mic, clean voiceover).
  • Understands what makes short‑form content perform: hooks, pacing, retention, subtitles, payoff.
  • Comfortable travelling frequently and filming in public/on the move.
  • Highly organised: can manage deadlines, files, versions, and deliverables.
Nice to Have
  • Basic photography + Lightroom workflow.
  • Drone experience (UK/CAA awareness is a bonus).
  • Motion graphics basics (simple titles, map routes, overlays).
  • Experience working with brands, tourism boards, or hospitality.
  • On‑camera presence (not essential, but a big plus).
Equipment Expectations (choose your preference)
  • Must have (or be able to use) a capable phone/camera setup for travel.
  • Familiar with basic creator kit: tripod, gimbal, lav mic, portable light.
  • Company can provide kit depending on role setup.
Working Style
  • Self‑starter energy: you don’t wait for instructions, you bring ideas.
  • Fast, practical creativity: “good and shipped” beats “perfect and delayed.”
  • Comfortable with feedback and rapid iteration.
  • Professional on the road: reliable, adaptable, respectful with partners/venues.
Location & Travel
  • UK-based.
  • Regular UK travel (often weekly or bi‑weekly depending on schedule).
  • International travel several times per year (varies by campaigns/projects).
Deliverables & Targets (example — adjust)
  • 3–5 short‑form videos/week
  • 10–20 supporting assets/week (stories, photos, carousels, cutdowns)
  • 1–2 longer videos/month (optional depending on strategy)
