An educational support provider in Birmingham seeks an experienced SEMH Tutor to provide one-to-one tuition to children with complex needs. You will create tailored learning plans combining academic and emotional support. This role requires experience working with SEMH students, patience, and knowledge of supporting Autism and ADHD. A valid Enhanced DBS is essential. Flexible working hours are available, and you will receive ongoing support from the company.
Location: Pupils’ homes & school settings (PRUs, alternative provisions) across Birmingham
Hours: Flexible – part-time or full-time (depending on referrals)
Pay: Competitive hourly rate (based on experience)
Connex Education is recruiting for an experienced Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) Tutor to deliver one-to-one tuition to children and young people with EHCPs. Pupils may present with Autism, ADHD, Bipolar, and other complex needs, often requiring a therapeutic approach to learning.
Tuition may take place in the pupil’s home or in a school setting such as a PRU. You’ll be helping students who struggle to engage in mainstream education by creating tailored learning plans that combine academic progress with emotional support.
This role would suit someone with a background in mentoring, counselling, prison education, youth work, or support work, who can build trust and use therapeutic techniques to make learning meaningful and accessible.
Start date: Immediate | Ongoing through the academic year
