A leading recruitment agency in the UK seeks a Small Works Project Manager to lead the delivery of small projects across Defence Estates. The ideal candidate will manage teams, ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders. A HNC/HND in Engineering and project management experience are required.

Contract: Permanent, Full Time
Salary: £40,000- £43,000 Per Annum
Mainstay Recruitment are seeking a skilled and motivated Small Works Project Manager to lead the delivery of billable works and small projects across Defence Estates for our well known client. This is a key role responsible for taking projects from initial brief through to completion, ensuring they are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of quality and compliance.
You will be technically competent, commercially aware, and confident in coordinating resources, managing contractors, and maintaining strong working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. The position requires a proactive and organised professional who can ensure that all activities meet statutory, regulatory, and Ministry of Defence (MoD) requirements, with a strong emphasis on Health, Safety and Environmental compliance.
The role involves close collaboration with Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) representatives, site teams, and end users to agree project scope, priorities, and timelines. You will lead planning activities, ensure appropriate contractor deployment, and maintain oversight of quality, schedules, and budgets to achieve contractual targets and KPIs.
You will be responsible for managing project documentation, including the review and approval of Risk Assessment and Method Statements (RAMS), and ensuring accurate records are maintained using CAFM systems such as Maximo and SharePoint.
Strong relationship management is essential. You will act as a trusted point of contact for clients and stakeholders, resolving issues, setting expectations, and ensuring a positive customer experience throughout each project.
