A recruitment agency is seeking a Skilled Painter for a 12-month ongoing contract in Bristol. The role involves operating as a flexible, multi-skilled worker; ensuring quality production, and adhering to Health & Safety requirements. Candidates should have a recognised spray painting apprenticeship and ideally prior manufacturing experience. Competitive pay rates are provided for both day and night shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure parts are produced on a ‘right first time’ basis.
  • Responsible for Health & Safety requirements.

Skilled Painter
Filton, Bristol
12 month ongoing contract
Core night shift
Working pattern:
Core Days 4 Day Week working Monday to Thursday - 21:15 to 06:30am
Hourly rate: (first 12 weeks of training will be core days at £19.40 per hour PAYE)
Night Shift £25.80 PAYE with all overtime in the week £30.65 and weekends £35.50 Rising to £26.85 with stamp and overtime with Stamp £31.90 and £36.95.

Profile
To operate as a multi-skilled, flexible worker to ensure maximum effectiveness and efficiency. Tasks will be undertaken and worked through the use of Spraying, paint touch up and cleaning requiring the use of:

  • Power tooling
  • Solvents and primer paints are required

Key Deliverables

  • Ensure parts are produced on a ‘right first time’ basis
  • Ensure that any calibrated equipment used is within date
  • Responsible for the timely clearance of work phases using the SAP system
  • Responsible for highlighting any non-conformance to the Process Team Leader
  • Adhering to the requirements of the Quality Procedures
  • Accountable for Health & Safety requirements under Section 7 of the HASAWA 1974
  • To hold first party inspection approval (M02 status is subject to obtaining A stamp approval)
  • Responsible for general housekeeping within the area

Key Skills

A recognised paint spraying indentured apprenticeship and ideally have previous manufacturing experience in a factory environment.

  • Ability to work to standard operating procedures
  • Must be able to work in small teams with Process Team Leaders
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and techniques to support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Self-motivated team player with good communication skills
