Overview
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Site Supervisor to join a growing team operating across multiple sites within the Kent, Sussex and Hampshire regions. This role is ideal for someone with a strong civils background who enjoys working outdoors, coordinating teams, and ensuring safe, efficient, high-quality delivery.
The successful candidate will play a key part in supervising field operations, maintaining high SHEQ standards, and supporting the delivery of Clean Rivers and Seas (CRaS) related civils work.
Key Responsibilities
Site Supervision
- Oversee day-to-day site activities and ensure smooth progress of works.
- Maintain full compliance with health & safety regulations and site protocols.
- Coordinate labour, subcontractors, and plant on site.
Project Management
- Support the planning and scheduling of civils activities.
- Monitor progress and address potential delays or risks.
- Ensure materials, plant, and resources are available and used efficiently.
Quality Assurance
- Inspect works to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and standards.
- Identify and resolve defects or non-conformities.
- Ensure completed works meet required quality benchmarks prior to sign-off.
Health & Safety
- Enforce all H&S policies and best practices on site.
- Carry out regular safety inspections and audits.
- Report and investigate incidents, implementing corrective actions.
Communication & Coordination
- Act as the bridge between the site team and management.
- Liaise with engineers, clients and stakeholders to ensure requirements are met.
- Provide clear instructions and maintain strong communication across the workforce.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate site records, diaries, and progress updates.
- Prepare and submit reports when required.
- Manage and document changes to works, variations or programme adjustments.
Team Leadership
- Lead, motivate and supervise teams on site.
- Provide mentoring and support to junior or less experienced workers.
- Address performance issues and promote a positive working environment.
Cost Awareness
- Identify opportunities for cost efficiencies without compromising quality or safety.
Experience, Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in a Site Supervisor or similar civils-based role.
- Strong leadership and people-management abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings.
- Good understanding of health & safety regulations.
- Ability to prioritise multiple workstreams and work under pressure.
- Confident, positive attitude with a commitment to high standards.
- Competent with Microsoft Office (including intermediate Excel skills).
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Flexible, calm under pressure, and able to work with individuals at all levels.
- Accurate and timely with documentation and reporting.
