Site Project Manager (Tier 2 Civils Contractor - EHV Sector)

(Must be willing to travel)

Overview

The Site Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of assigned projects from start to completion, ensuring delivery on programme, within budget, and to the required quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day project activities, ensuring compliance with all procedures and safety standards.
  • Plan, organise and allocate resources including labour, plant, materials, and subcontractors.
  • Produce and manage project programmes using MS Project.
  • Liaise directly with clients, representing the business professionally at all times.
  • Prepare Method Statements, Risk Assessments, and other required site documentation.
  • Oversee temporary works requirements and prepare design briefs.
  • Monitor project costs, prepare payment applications, track valuations, and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Interpret and manage contract conditions (e.g., NEC3), assess additional works, and support dispute resolution.
Requirements
  • Willingness to travel and work away from home as required across the UK.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Strong communication, client-facing and leadership skills.
  • High level of literacy, numeracy, and IT proficiency (especially spreadsheets).
  • Ability to work independently, stay organised, and lead teams effectively.
  • Ideally degree-qualified in Civil Engineering, with a minimum of 5 years' site-based experience in a similar management role.
  • Strong understanding of current H&S and environmental procedures.
  • Experience in civils and utilities sectors, ideally including substation civils, HV cable installation, drainage, groundworks, RC works, earthworks, and reinstatement.
  • Knowledge of NRSWA, trench excavations, and reinstatement techniques.
