Job description

The Buckingham School is seeking to appoint a dynamic, problem-solving, suitably qualified and experienced individual as a Site Manager to join our friendly and supportive team. The successful candidate will be someone who can demonstrate a willingness to find workable, practical and financially viable solutions. Working in this environment requires ‘thinking on your feet’, good organisational skills, clear and strong communication approaches, a positive ‘can do’ attitude, a good and appropriate sense of humour and the ability to work flexibly, including working unsociable hours. The suitable candidate will lead a team and enthuse others around them to complete tasks and deliver excellent customer service. They will be someone who understands the crucial role that a premises plays in a young person's experience of education, as well as that of staff and external users. We are looking for someone who can demonstrate a strong track record of professionalism and experience in this field. We are a thriving school with over 1000 students on roll, ranging from students aged 11-18. Whilst academic achievement lies at the heart of what we do, we never forget the importance of fostering mutual respect and decency amongst our pupils. The Successful Candidate Will Have:
  • Have an understanding and awareness of the importance of Health & Safety issues (to be NEBOSH qualified, would be desirable)
  • Have experience and/or qualifications within the building and trade (would be desirable)
  • Be First Aid qualified and/or willing to be trained (essential)
  • Expect the job to involve a level of ‘first hand’ physical and hands‑on involvement
  • Along with team members, regularly work outdoors and will sometimes be exposed to a range of weather conditions
  • Be expected to work unsociable/out of hours to cover call outs and emergencies
  • Be required to undertake shift patterns, including early starts and late finishes
Working Pattern

37 hours per week, 52 weeks of the year. Hours: 9.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Thursday & 9.00am to 4.30pm Friday. Shift patterns in operation with early starts from 6.00am and late finishes at 9.00pm.
