Job summary

A leading company in civil engineering is seeking an experienced Freelance Site Engineer for a major project in Bridgwater. This role focuses on Section 278 works, encompassing road widening, drainage, and liaising with contractors. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with design specifications and health regulations while keeping accurate records and progressing site work efficiently.

Qualifications

• Experience in S278 works or similar civil engineering projects required.
• CSCS card and desirable qualifications include SMSTS/SSSTS and First Aid.
• Proficient in setting out with Total Stations and GPS equipment.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing Section 278 works including road widening and junction improvements.
• Setting out and surveying infrastructure for civil works.
• Monitoring project progress and ensuring timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• OverseeingSection 278 works, including road widening, junction improvements, drainage, and footpaths.
• Setting out and surveying for infrastructure and associated civil works.
• Ensuring work is completed in compliance withdesign specifications,health & safety regulations, andenvironmental standards.
• Liaising with contractors to ensure smooth project progression.
• Keeping accurate records, preparing site reports, and maintaining site diaries.
• Monitoring project progress, ensuring the timely delivery of all milestones.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven experience in S278 works or similar civil engineering projects.
• Proficient in setting out using Total Stations and GPS equipment.
• Excellent understanding of construction processes and regulations.
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• CSCS card required.
