Are you passionate about delivering exceptional patient care while supporting and developing a dedicated team? We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and dynamic leader to join our Dermatology Outpatient Department.

In this role, you will :
  • Lead with Purpose – Support the Lead Nurse in ensuring the smooth, efficient running of our dermatology outpatient clinic, providing clear leadership and direction to maintain the highest standards of care and professional practice.
  • Collaborate and Adapt – Work closely with the Band 6 Sister in Main Outpatients at CDH, offering flexible support and cross‑cover when needed.
  • Champion Patient‑Centred Care – Take responsibility for planning, delivering, and evaluating personalised care that meets the health and wellbeing needs of every patient, aligned with our Trust Values and the Nursing & Midwifery Professional Framework.
  • Inspire and Develop Others – Act as a role model, offering guidance, clinical supervision, and mentorship to staff and students, helping them reach their full potential.
  • Ensure Excellence in Environment – Maintain a safe, clean, and organised outpatient setting that supports productive and high‑quality care.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

To support the Lead Nurse for Outpatients in the day to day efficient running of the dermatology outpatient clinic area, by providing strong leadership and direction to the team, monitoring and maintaining standards of care and professional practice.

Work flexibly and closely with the Band 6 sister in main outpatients CDH and provide cross cover in each others absence.

Be responsible for ensuring the planning, delivery and evaluation of care to meet the personalised health and wellbeing care needs of patients, in line with the Trust’s Values & Nursing & Midwifery Professional Framework.

Act as a strong role model and provide development, clinical supervision and advice for other staff and students to support them in reaching their full potential.

To ensure the productive operation of the outpatient environment through the maintenance of a safe, clean and organised environment.
