A band 6 staff nurse or senior Nurse in a clinical decision unit plays a key role in managing patients who require short term observation, investigation and clinical decision making before being discharged or admitted to ward .
As a Sister/Charge Nurse at Clinical Decision Unit , able to assist the patient/carers/relatives during the incidental contacts .
Manage the Department , lead the team , coordinating the activities of the ward team and deploying resources effectively .
Ensure that effective communication is maintained both within the ward /department and with relevant external agencies or individuals .

As a senior nurse duty , overseeing patient flow in CDU , provide clinical decision support to junior staff , perform rapid thorough assessment of patient who are ,awaiting diagnostics , under observation , implement treatment plans and monitor patient response .
help to coordinate ED in charge to increase the patient flow , prioritise patients based on acuity and clinical need .participate in audits and incident reporting and safety huddles .Attend the emergency calls in CDU .Coordination with MDT work closely with ED clinicians, ED Nurse in charge, Acute medical teams , advanced nurse practitioners , physiotherapist and social care ,support safe , timely discharge or transfer .Supervising and mentoring Newly qualified nurses , students nurses .
As a senior Nurse , who require strong communication skills coordination abilities, ability to manage a high turnover, fast paced patient area ,strong clinical assessment and decision making skills .
