Overview

Fantastic opportunity Available:
A global leader in the vitamins, minerals and supplements are currently looking for experienced Packing Supervisor to join their ever-growing team.

Due to high demands in the business, they are looking for an individual to carry out daily Packing operations in a safe, disciplined, effective and efficient manner, in line with company policies, the GMP and specific requirements defined by the Packing Management Team. This is a temporary to Permanent position.

Sunday 23:00 - 06:00
Monday to Thursday 21:45 - 06:00

Responsibilities
  • Assist the packing manager in ensuring the smooth and efficient operations of packing schedules
  • To deliver the weekly Packing Schedule to the required performance figure, set annually in the Yearly Objectives
  • To ensure that product is packed to the required GMP standards. To ensure that operators demonstrate the GMP requirements of their role through the appropriate recruitment, training and staff reviews.
  • To take the lead in addressing day to day production issues that occur on shift. To communicate effectively with all relevant departments and undertake actions to prevent repeats.
  • To ensure Non Conformances are investigated to the correct standard
  • To ensure all cell audit actions are closed with a permanent solution
  • To support the QA Department through the timely release of BPR's.
  • To measure, monitor and review cell OEE so department targets are achieved through periodic structured meetings with actions plans generated
  • To effectively manage line leaders to ensure a good standard of line performance and GMP is maintained
  • To ensure a good level of line maintenance is achieved through managing line technicians training, performance and reviews undertaken
  • To set standards of operation through effective training, Work Instructions, SOP's and other procedures. To maintain these standards through audits, reviews, counselling and disciplinary action if required.
  • To effectively manage the staff through timely Back to Work Interviews, Performance Development Reviews, counselling and disciplinary action if required. To maintain adequate note keeping, records and procedure for any HR related issues. To inform HR in a timely manner of any issues that are pertinent to their department.
  • To manage your team in a safe manner. To ensure all staff have an adequate Risk Assessment (RA's) and that this has been reviewed within the last 2 years. To review RA's following accidents and update if appropriate. To act in a timely manner to any Near Miss Incidents or Accidents reported.
  • To effectively liaise with other Departments on site to ensure the safe and effective operation of the Swadlincote site.
  • To work with planning to generate a weekly plan
Qualifications
  • Ideally 2 years' working in GMP or food processing environment, including at least 1 years' line management / supervision experience.
  • Determined and capable of self-development to very high standards of supervision
  • Real commitment to GMP.
  • Computer literate and familiar with MS Office programs.
  • Proven analytical and report writing skills.
  • Successful record in training of personnel.
  • Able to communicate persuasively at all levels, motivate individuals and instil teamwork.
  • Effective and proactive team worker who takes and demonstrates responsibility.
  • Can demonstrate effective performance management of direct reporting staff
  • Able to influence staff at all levels and in other departments.
  • Maintains a positive and upbeat approach.
  • Able to focus, plan and deliver within the normal working day.
  • Organised in approach to ensure tasks are delivered on time.

  • Ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
