Overview

Newport, UK, United Kingdom | Process Engineering

The Newport Shift Process team is seeking a dedicated and skilled Shift Process Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a background in semiconductor manufacturing processes; this role requires a proactive individual with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment to support manufacturing and process teams.

Responsibilities
  • Operate and monitor semiconductor manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Perform lot dispositions to recover product after tool aborts.
  • Utilise Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques to monitor and improve process stability and capability.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards by following process specs and OCAPs.
  • Create pipelines for process excursions to ensure rapid identification and resolution of issues.
  • Complete engineering requests to participate in continuous improvement and capacity initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Prioritise tasks effectively to meet production goals and deadlines.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with team members and other departments.
  • Utilise office software for data entry, reporting, and communication.
Qualifications

Education: BTEC or HNC in Engineering, Electronics, or a related field is advantageous but not essential

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a semiconductor fabrication (fab) environment.

Skills: Proficiency in Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques.
Knowledge of cross wafer-fab processes is advantageous.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
Proficiency in office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
