A leading pet food producer in Scotland seeks a Shift Maintenance Engineer for hands-on maintenance of processing equipment. Ideal candidates will have a strong Electrical and Mechanical Engineering background achieved through a recognized apprenticeship, alongside problem-solving skills. Shift Maintenance Engineer (Multi skilled) – Castle Cary
Permanent position • 32 hours per week
Salary: GBP43,600 - GBP46,100 (prorated and inclusive of shift allowance) dependent on experience plus performance related company bonus
This role focuses on hands-on maintenance for specialised pet food processing & packaging equipment, including mechanical and electrical challenges. The aim of this shift-based role is to problem solve and repair technical faults on factory equipment, reducing downtime and helping the site achieve production targets in a safe and food-safe manner.
You will collaborate with other shift maintenance engineers, shift operations, and days engineers to maintain and improve factory performance and asset reliability. You will also be involved in longer-term improvements and projects to improve reliability on assets, maintenance schedules, or maintenance strategy.
