About You

You will have an ONC or equivalent qualification in a science subject and preferably previous laboratory experience within the Oil & Gas sector. You are a keen self-starter, motivated to develop your skills and knowledge, with strong analytical abilities and attention to detail. You are confident working both independently and as part of a team, remain professional under pressure, and can manage your time effectively. Knowledge of laboratory operations, quality standards, and health and safety requirements is desirable, along with flexibility to work shifts including nights, weekends, and bank holidays.

About the Opportunity

In this role, you will carry out the preparation, testing, and reporting of submitted samples in line with set methodologies, supporting senior personnel in the use of both basic and advanced instrumentation techniques. You will ensure compliance with management systems and accreditation requirements while supporting a fast-paced, shift-based operation.



Key Activities


  • Carry out testing in accordance with documented standards and test methods

  • Maintain accurate records of testing, observations, and calculations

  • Produce reports and input sample results into the computer system

  • Assist with maintenance, servicing, and calibration of laboratory equipment

  • Participate in internal and external audits and support corrective actions

  • Investigate abnormal results and escalate as appropriate

  • Ensure compliance with Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental standards
