Job Overview
Maintenance Shift Engineer located in Walkden, Greater Manchester. Salary: £41,200 + £5,000 Shift Premium. Partner with a leading automation and intralogistics company to maintain and optimise state‑of‑the‑art machinery.
Shift Pattern
Panama Shift: 6am – 12am (shifts to be confirmed)
Key Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical disassembly and reassembly tasks, basic field wiring, equipment calibration, and system testing.
- Efficiently manage CMMS to achieve over 90% utilisation.
- Complete reactive repairs within set timeframes to minimise downtime.
- Conduct servicing and repairs of installed products, taking hands‑on ownership of issues to achieve swift resolutions.
- Interpret electrical schematics and work confidently with 415 V motor controls.
- Prioritise health and safety by conducting thorough risk assessments.
Skills and Qualifications Required
- Qualification at NVQ/BTEC/C&G Level 3 in Electro‑Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Familiarity with Non‑Destructive Testing (NDT) methods and technologies.
- Knowledge of PLC systems and their functionality.
- Experience with pneumatics and hydraulics (advantage).
- Proficiency in basic Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience using CMMS systems and managing engineering inventory.
- Qualification equivalent to HNC/HND preferred but not essential.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, including ability to read and follow assembly drawings.
- Familiarity with 415 V motor controls.
