Job description

Maintenance Engineer – Castle Donington – £48,101 + £5,000 Shift Premium – Permanent

Shift Pattern

Days & Nights from 6am - 6pm and 6am - 6pm on a Suez shift pattern.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carrying out preventative and reactive Maintenance tasks across the site, as well as contributing to continuous improvement tasks.
  • Performing Electrical and Mechanical maintenance on Automated Storage Retrieval Systems, conveyance systems and sortation equipment.
  • Mechanical maintenance tasks such as the strip‑down and re‑assembly of equipment, replacement of components and re‑lacing of belts for example.
  • Electrically, responsibility for electrical testing using a multi‑meter, interpreting electrical diagrams handling faults and working up to 480 v.
  • Reporting job details, breakdown information and follow‑up tasks in a CMMS system.
  • Providing exceptional maintenance support to the on‑site customer's installed systems.
  • General care and housekeeping of machinery and work areas.
Skills and Qualifications Required
  • Qualification at NVQ/BTEC/CG Level 3 in Electro‑Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience working as a Maintenance Engineer in a fast‑paced, high‑volume facility – automated warehousing, manufacturing, FMCG and packaging facilities would prove a good transfer. Alongside military personnel.
  • Knowledge of PLC systems and their functionality.
  • Experience with pneumatics and hydraulics is an advantage.
  • Experience using CMMS systems and managing engineering inventory.
