Qualifications

• Multi-skilled engineer with HNC qualification or equivalent experience.
• Strong technical knowledge of PLC’s, Drives, Networks & Mechanics.
• Understanding of Employment and Safety at Work Legislation.

Responsibilities

• Maximize plant and process availability effectively and safely.
• Lead area documentation and routine software backup.
• Support financial control procedures within the engineering group.

As a Shift Control Engineer, you will maximize the availability of the plant and processes, and ensure they operate effectively, efficiently and safely with a behavioral commitment to the Knauf family values..

What you’ll be doing…

• Carry out effective, efficient fault finding and problem resolution to root cause where possible on a wide range of complex systems in a continuous process environment so that they maintain the plant to deliver the target operating efficiencies.

• You will be the lead for your area to ensure documentation is available and up to date and a routine software backup/comparison is completed and stored correctly.

• Be the key contact point for any projects or modifications in your area.

• Apply, and ensure compliance, with the Company’s Health & Safety and Environmental Policy and Procedures so that a safe and secure environment is maintained.

• Support the Engineering group by following all financial control procedures so that the Engineering Team has an accurate and up to date picture of current spend vs. budget.

• Actively engage in plant CI activities.

• Support the Engineering Manager in keeping the Site, buildings and fabric, physical infrastructure and Manufacturing and Assembly assets and equipment, in a well maintained and safe condition.

• Ensure effective utilization of the shift craftsman.

If you have any of the following – this would be an added advantage:

• Time served multi skilled engineer ideally with HNC qualification in a Technical discipline or suitable knowledge through experience.

• A strong technical knowledge of PLC’s, Drives, Networks & Mechanics.

• Rockwell (Allen Bradley) Logix PLC’s

• Power flex / Ultra Drives

• Good Mechanical grounding

• Devicenet / Ethernet

• Experienced in the application of Health & Safety procedures with an understanding of the principles of Employment and Safety at Work Legislation & PUWER Regulations.
