Job summary

A global chemical manufacturer based in the Runcorn area is seeking a SHE Specialist to develop and drive Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality Management Systems. This role entails managing ISO certifications, conducting audits, and ensuring compliance with regulations. The ideal candidate has experience with quality management systems and holds relevant qualifications such as NEBOSH. Qualifications

  • Proven experience in leading Internal Audits on ISO9001, ISO45001 or ISO14001.
  • A strong background in implementing Health and Safety Compliance.
  • Prior experience of communicating with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the effective implementation of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
  • Maintain the management systems manual and prepare quarterly and annual reviews for site management.
  • Manage the internal audit plan.
  • Participate in SHEQ initiatives including Safety Walks and Training Days.
  • Manage external audits from certifying bodies.

Position paying up to £55,000 annually with flexible working hours, a company pension scheme, generous holidays package, private medical insurance and other great benefits! You will be working for a developing, global chemical manufacturer based in the Runcorn area.

Their site is based in the Runcorn area with free onsite parking, making it easily commutable from surrounding areas such as Widnes, Warrington, Liverpool, St. Helens and the Cheshire area.

The role of SHE Specialist

The role of the SHE Specialist is to develop and drive the implementation of Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality Management Systems across the business at their manufacturing plant in Runcorn. The role is to ensure that compliance assurance activities, both internal and external, are planned and coordinated in line with regulation guidance and full compliance.

Key Responsibilities of the SHE Specialist :
  • To manage the effective implementation of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
  • To maintain the management systems manual and prepare and present quarterly and annual reviews of the safety management systems for site management.
  • To manage the internal audit plan.
  • To take part in SHEQ initiatives such as Safety Walks, SHE Training Days, Internal Audits and Risk Assessments.
  • To manage external audits from certifying bodies and supply chain or other interested third parties as required.
Skills and Experience Needed of the SHE Specialist :
  • Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems
  • ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO45001
  • NEBOSH
  • Qualification (or equivalent, e.g. NVQ Level 6, Level 6 Diploma)
  • Proven experience in leading Internal Audits on ISO9001, ISO45001 or ISO1400
  • A strong background in implementing Health and Safety Compliance
  • Prior experience of communicating with stakeholders such as BSI, Company Managers, Business Board, etc.
