Job summary

Job description

Being a Service Team Member for the National Trust is all about flexibility, offering support to the wider team where it is needed, connecting with visitors, inspiring them, and making sure they have the best possible day when they come to visit.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain high presentation standards by cleaning and clearing visitor areas.
  • Assist onsite teams when needed, including welcoming visitors at the reception and providing information for their visit.
  • Share knowledge about the site and the National Trust, talk about membership, and sell it.
  • Serve and sell refreshments in the tea room, support the National Trust shop, and support the setup of visitor trails.
  • Sort books for the book barn and support the garden team with watering.
  • Work flexibly mainly outdoors, lifting and handling as required, and adapt to a varied role where no day will be the same.
Qualifications
  • Focused on giving great service to everyone you meet.
  • Confident speaking with visitors and solving problems.
  • A team player, but also happy to work on your own initiative.
  • Well‑organised, adaptable, and flexible to work across different sites.
  • Willing to learn new skills and work towards shared goals.

Salary: £12.75 per hour. Hours: 585 hours per year, worked on a rota throughout the year. The role will require weekday, weekend, bank holiday and some out of season availability. Hours worked each month may vary due to seasonal demand; however, the salary is paid in 12 equal payments throughout the year. Contract: Permanent.
