The Service Subject Matter Expert ( SME ) role is an 12 month Fixed Term Contract (FTC)

This role can be based in Bath, Leeds or Chadderton, Oldham.

Purpose of the Job:

We are seeking a senior leader with expertise in Field Service operations to support the global rollout of Microsoft Dynamics 365 (CE and FinOps) across our Service teams. This is a 12-month contract role, pivotal to the success of our transformation programme. You will work closely with superusers, site leadership, and project teams to ensure the solution meets operational needs and delivers lasting change.

  • Lead the deployment of D365 CE and FinOps across EMEA Service operations.
  • Collaborate with local leadership and superusers to validate requirements and ensure alignment with global best practices.
  • Provide strategic guidance on Field Service operations, including scheduling, stock management, documentation, resource planning and invoicing.
  • Champion health and safety as a core principle in all aspects of service delivery and transformation.
  • Support cutover planning and execution for Service teams at each site.
  • Drive change management activities to embed new ways of working.
  • Monitor and validate the quality and relevance of training materials and testing plans, providing input to ensure they meet operational needs.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, translating business needs into actionable requirements.
  • Provide on-site support during go-live phases to ensure successful adoption.

Qualifications

Experience Required:

  • Proven leadership in Field Service operations (e.g. managing engineers, scheduling, remote teams).
  • Experience facilitating ERP or CRM implementations (D365, Salesforce, SAP, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of Service processes and best practices.
  • Demonstrable track record of delivering change in complex, global environments.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
