Overview

Hitachi Energy has an exciting opportunity to join as a Service Project Manager. In this role we'll rely on you to take full responsibility for the successful and safe execution of projects and Service Level Agreements and to use your sound judgement, built upon solid expertise, to deliver the best possible results every time. You'll lead a talented team of engineers and technicians and contribute to the strategy and growth of Transformer Service by delivering high-quality, cost-effective projects and solutions in line with our processes, quality standards and safety guidelines. How you'll make an impact:

Responsibilities
  • Focus on providing the best possible customer service and help to identify new business opportunities
  • Manage multiple projects from start to finish simultaneously
  • Plan, direct, co-ordinate and control every aspect—from costings, procurement and budget control to technical aspects, the allocation of resources and supply chain management—in line with design requirements
  • Manage aspects of project delivery, including site reporting, and maintain a key strategic role with responsibility for commercial, financial, contractual and QHSE implications
  • Develop, monitor and review progress to ensure all work remains on schedule and within cost and quality estimates. Operate as part of a team, leading the way to deliver highly successful outcomes
  • Work alongside the Sales Manager and Tendering Team to assist in the growth of the business
  • Cultivate open and transparent relationships externally and internally and use a solution-driven mindset to achieve clarity of expectation, mitigate challenges and provide a seamless experience to customers
  • Background in project engineering with 5-10 years of experience within the sector
  • Proven experience of managing high-value projects, including accountability for every aspect and for driving all activities
  • Ability to run multiple projects simultaneously and work at pace with meticulous attention to detail
  • Commercial and financial astuteness and experience with project planning tools
  • Knowledge of contractual obligations, SLAs, quality and HSE as well as supply chain management and resource planning
Qualifications
  • Strong organisational skills with exceptional planning and prioritising abilities
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and overcome challenges with a clear solution strategy
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills, able to translate technical detail into relatable content and liaise with customers and colleagues at all levels
  • A desire to continually learn and absorb technical information
