Job description

The forensic division is seeking to fill an inpatient Service Manager role to develop, manage and deliver secure inpatient provision. The forensic division leads inpatient, community and prison based services.

The inpatient services are based in Hull and offer 69 male inpatient beds distributed across Medium and Low secure provision. The inpatient service manager role sits as part of the senior leadership team with line management from the General Manager. The senior leadership team structure is a well established and supportive team. This post is additional to the current structure so potentially allows for some period of development with another inpatient service manager still in post.

We invite applicants who are committed to patient care, with an enthusiasm for service development, and who have skills in managing and delivering challenging services. As an applicant, you will be required to demonstrate a track record in NHS contract management, systems, staff and people management. We are always striving to maintain and improve and are looking to maximise on the use of data analysis.

This role will be responsible for this in inpatient services, be able to identify areas of development and deliver maximum effectiveness and efficiency. Main duties of the job
  • Successfully lead the inpatient service areas, ensuring they meet quality standards and promote best possible patient experience and outcomes
  • Ensure that service delivery is within contractual requirements and meets Trust, and provider collaborative (including commissioner) requirements
  • Demonstrate leadership and management to staff, managers and other agencies to promote a positive organisational and workplace culture
  • Ensure service area performance and productivity through use of data, digital options and efficiency measures.
  • Work in partnership with Modern Matrons, Clinical/ Professional Leads and senior nurses to support clinical practice, service/ staff development.
  • Be accountable for the financial resources within the service budget.
  • Deputise for the Divisional General Manager as appropriate.
