Job description

The closing date is 19 January 2026

A vacancy has become available for a Band 3 Service Co-ordinator - 12 months secondment/fixed term contract for 37.5 hours per week at The Royal Oldham Hospital with some possible Hybrid Remote working after training completed and competencies reached.

In this role you will support the service and management within the Interpretation Department. You will be responsible for allocating face‑to‑face and telephone interpretation staff, managing and prioritising your own workload, and acting as the first point of contact for incoming calls and queries from staff and patients.

Main Duties of the Job
  • Allocate face‑to‑face and telephone appointments using substantive, bank and agency staff.
  • Allocate language interpreters, initiate 2‑ or 3‑way telephone interpretation calls.
  • Input out‑of‑hours (OOHS) usage and support staff as required.
  • Receive appointments via the online interpreter booking system, Zipporah, e‑mail and telephone and input them accurately.
  • Ensure all communication is passed to the relevant staff member and deal with patient calls in accordance with the NCA Trust Values.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and cover a weekend shift at short notice when required.
  • Communicate professionally with clinicians and patients.
