Are you a creative wordsmith with a passion for crafting content that not only engages but also ranks? We’re looking for a talented SEO Content Writer to join our team on a hybrid basis from one of our key sites in Stockton, Newcastle, or Manchester. In this role, you’ll play a pivotal part in creating compelling, search-optimised content that drives visibility, boosts online performance, and helps our clients stand out in competitive markets.
As an SEO Content Writer, you’ll be responsible for creating high-quality, strategically optimised content across various formats and platforms. You’ll play a key role in implementing content strategies, conducting thorough keyword research, and supporting client-facing activities to drive measurable results.
Responsibilities
- Write optimised landing page content, including keywords and internal links
- Write optimised blog content, including keywords, internal links, optimised titles, and embedded images
- Create content for a range of audiences, including B2C and B2B customers, with an understanding of the full funnel and how to write for every stage
- Possess strong research capabilities to inform content creation
- Proactively lead content planning for a wide range of content types, spanning all areas of the marketing funnel, including in-depth keyword research, understanding of intent types, and a deep understanding of personas
- Create written content for content marketing campaigns
- Create content for Online Marketing channels, including Marketplaces, Social, and Email
- Upload content to the relevant areas of the client\'s site using platforms such as Shopify and Magento, and Visualsoft
- Work closely with SEO Strategy and the wider team to support quarterly and yearly content strategy creation
- Carry out keyword research using various tools (Google Keyword Planner, Ahrefs, SEM Rush)
- Create brand and customer personas with an understanding of purchasing motivations, pain points and blockers across multiple personas
- Support with client-facing meetings with an SEO Account Director present
- Manage your own workload and maintain individual and team KPIs
- Be responsible for own time and task management, ensuring efficient project delivery
- Demonstrate the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Work with designers & developers to create on-site content pieces (CMS pages, guides, interactive content)
- Own client communications relating to Content approvals, showcasing a deep understanding of the value proposition and relationships with clients.
- Provide assistance with tracking, reporting, and providing detailed analysis of content performance
- Attend & deliver presentations in client-facing meetings independently if needed
- Spot opportunities for content to be activated in multi-modal formats across various other marketing channels.
- Continually expand knowledge & understanding of wider SEO practices
Requirements
- Experience writing for the web
- A good understanding of how to create content that attracts a range of audiences and personas
- Basic knowledge & understanding of wider SEO practices or willingness to learn
- A meticulous approach to grammar, spelling, blog structure, and providing the highest-quality copy possible
- Ability to come up with creative content ideas
- Excellent time management and communication skills
- A willingness to learn how wider SEO (including technical, outreach & strategy) works alongside content creation
- Ability to foster strong relationships at all levels
