Senior Storeperson required to join a busy Council stores team based in Newry, working across the Newry, Mourne and Down District Council area.

This is a part-time role working 21 hours per week Monday- Friday, offering a competitive salary at £15.47. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the central stores, ensuring stock and non-stock items are ordered, received, stored and issued accurately and safely.

Duties will include maintaining stock levels, raising and expediting purchase orders, checking deliveries, updating computerized stock systems, and maintaining accurate records. The role will also involve overseeing the safe handling of equipment, fuel, tools and hazardous materials, carrying out regular equipment checks and risk assessments, supporting stocktakes and audits, and liaising with suppliers and internal departments to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

Applicants must also be flexible to work outside normal office hours when required, including evenings, weekends and public or bank holidays. This role would suit a reliable, hands‑on individual who works well at a front‑line level and is committed to maintaining high standards and improving processes within a busy stores environment.
