About The Role:

We are seeking a commercially minded Senior Treasury Manager to join Paysend's Treasury leadership team. This role combines senior-level treasury responsibility with strategic commercial impact, supporting Paysend's growth through active balance sheet management, funding optimisation, and commercially driven treasury decision-making.

In addition to leading core treasury operations, you will bring a strong commercial mindset, understanding how treasury decisions directly influence unit economics, profitability, pricing, and market expansion. You will work closely with Finance, Product, and Commercial teams to optimise cash usage, manage risk, and support scalable growth.

This role is suited to a leader who combines technical depth, business judgment, and leadership capability and is motivated by operating in a complex, fast-growth environment.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities):
Treasury Leadership & Operations:
  • Lead and actively participate in group-wide liquidity management, cash forecasting, FX operations, and funding flows.
  • Provide senior-level leadership across treasury activities to support business continuity and growth.
  • Ensure high availability of funds to support customer demand and operational requirements.
Commercial & Strategic Impact:
  • Partner with Finance, Commercial, and Product teams to support pricing strategy, margin management, and unit economics.
  • Assess treasury and liquidity implications of new products, regions, and partnerships.
  • Support and expand the company's bank strategy.
  • Provide commercial insights related:
    • Funding costs
    • FX margins
    • Capital efficiency
    • Working capital optimisation
  • Support negotiations with banking partners, liquidity providers, and FX counterparties from a commercial and risk perspective.
  • Innovate on settlement set‑up and strategy.
Safeguarding & Funds Control:
  • Oversee safeguarding operations, reconciliation frameworks, and settlement controls across regulated entities.
  • Ensure client funds are protected and handled in line with regulatory requirements.
Risk Management & Governance:
  • Manage liquidity, FX exposure, reporting, and counterparty risks with a commercial mindset.
  • Develop and enhance treasury risk frameworks and control environments.
  • Participate in strategic decisions on counterparty selection, funding strategy, and balance sheet structure.
Data, Analytics & Automation:
  • Contribute to treasury analytics and reporting to support data-driven commercial decisions.
  • Use SQL and Python to automate reporting, forecasting, and scenario modelling.
  • Provide leadership with insights into cash flow, FX exposure, costs, and scalability.
Process Improvement & Transformation:
  • Drive treasury transformation initiatives focused on scalability, treasury automation, and cost efficiency.
  • Lead system enhancements and process redesigns to strengthen controls and improve performance.
Stakeholder Leadership:
  • Partner with senior stakeholders across Finance, Compliance, Product, and Commercial teams.
  • Translate treasury considerations into clear financial and commercial implications for the business.
  • Support executive decision‑making with structured analysis and recommendations.
What You'll Need To Be Successful In This Role:
Essential:
  • Senior treasury experience within an EMI, fintech, payments company, or regulated financial institution.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to influence business strategy through treasury insight.
  • Leadership capability with experience managing stakeholders and contributing at senior level.
  • People Leadership experience.
  • Deep understanding of safeguarding, cross-border payments, and settlement processes.
  • Advanced technical skills in:
    • SQL for reporting and analytics
    • Python for automation, modelling, and process optimisation
  • STEM or quantitative sciences‑oriented degree (e.g., Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Physics).
  • CFA or similar desirable.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a complex, fast-growth environment.
Preferred:
  • Experience supporting pricing strategy, margin improvement or funding optimisation.
  • FX risk management and hedging exposure.
  • Experience with Treasury Management Systems.
  • Familiarity with business intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker).
  • Knowledge of UK and EU payments or EMI regulatory frameworks.
