Job description

Due to an increased project workbook, my client is looking for a skilled Senior Engineer to join their transport planning team in Nottingham. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic, people-orientated individual who will be able to support/lead their transport planning input into small to medium scale projects and work with senior colleagues to assist in the delivery, management and leadership of large complex projects.


Responsibilities:
  1. You will be an experienced Engineer/Transport Planner with significant knowledge and hands-on post-graduate experience.
  2. Has worked on a range of projects including commercial, retail and residential schemes.
  3. Experience of undertaking and leading the technical work on small to medium sized projects.
  4. Competent in some or all of the following: Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, Environmental Statements, access strategy work, parking strategies, sustainable transport and active travel provision, and working with guidance such as NPPF, DfT Transport Assessment guidelines, Manual for Streets.
  5. Experience in using modelling software including TRICS, Junctions and LinSig as well as design software including AutoCAD and AutoTrack.
  6. Experience of project management (e.g. budget planning, resource planning, invoicing) on small to medium scale projects.
  7. Capability for carrying out and/or supervising conceptual junction design (priority, roundabout, signal junctions).
  8. Good communication skills and the confidence to lead discussions with Clients, members of project teams, co-professionals and other project stakeholders.
  9. Ability to share knowledge and mentor the more junior members of the team.
