Senior Transport Planner

Location: Manchester
Hybrid Working (3:2)
Salary: 40,000 - 50,000 + Bonus & Benefits

Are you an experienced Transport Planner ready to step into a more senior, project-led role within a progressive and people-focused consultancy? This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing transport planning team in Manchester, working on high-profile development and infrastructure projects across the UK.

Our client is an independent transport and infrastructure planning consultancy with a strong reputation for technical quality, staff development and collaborative culture. They are now looking to appoint a Senior Transport Planner (circa 4+ years' experience) to support continued growth in the North West.

The Role

You will take a leading role in delivering transport planning advice across the full project lifecycle, from early feasibility through to planning submission and delivery. The position offers genuine project ownership, client exposure and the opportunity to mentor junior staff.

  • Leading the preparation of Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans and technical reports
  • Developing multi-modal access strategies for residential, mixed-use, commercial and regeneration schemes
  • Undertaking junction modelling using ARCADY, PICADY, LINSIG and VISSIM
  • Supporting masterplanning, feasibility studies and large-scale developments
  • Carrying out site visits, walking and cycling audits, corridor studies and consultation support
  • Reviewing designs through swept path analysis and application of relevant design standards
  • Acting as a key point of contact for clients, local authorities and wider project teams
About You
  • Circa 4+ years' experience in transport planning
  • Consultancy background preferred
  • Strong technical capability and report-writing skills
  • Experience using industry-standard modelling software
  • Confident communicator with a collaborative, proactive approach
