Overview

Location: Spalding
Salary: 38,000 - 42,000

Summary: We are seeking an experienced Transport Planner to lead the planning operations within a growing logistics business based in Spalding.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to take ownership of a planning function and make an impact within a dynamic environment. The successful candidate will be personable, have strong technical knowledge and high attention to detail in order to deliver a first-class service to customers. Ongoing training and development opportunities are also on offer.

This role is working Monday - Friday, 7am - 5pm.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the transport planning operation to ensure timely, efficient and cost-effective deliveries.
  • Allocate resources, organise schedules and ensure that robust planning is in place to meet service level agreements.
  • Ensure compliance to legislative requirements including Drivers' Hours and Working Time Directive regulations.
  • Ongoing focus on continuous improvement and constantly strive to improve operational efficiencies and fleet performance.
  • Support the Transport Manager with compliance, audits and reporting.
Experience
  • Previous experience in a planning role within a fast-paced transport operation.
  • Strong knowledge of UK road transport regulations.
  • Good IT skills including use of Excel and transport management systems.
  • Strong communication skills, able to effectively liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Transport Manager CPC (desirable but not essential).
