Overview

Senior Transport Planner - Hybrid Working - East Midlands

Location: Leicester or Nottingham (Hybrid & Flexible Options)

Sector: Transport Planning / Development Planning

Responsibilities
  • Prepare Transport Statements, Transport Assessments, and Travel Plans to support planning applications.
  • Provide expert advice on highway and transport planning issues, including access strategies and feasibility studies.
  • Prepare preliminary designs for site access and highway improvements in line with local authority requirements.
  • Manage multiple projects, ensuring high technical standards and timely delivery.
  • Collaborate with clients, design teams, and local highway authorities to achieve the best outcomes.
About You

You\'ll bring a strong background in Transport Planning, with a track record of delivering development planning projects and using key industry software.

Essential:

  • Degree in Transport, Civil Engineering, Geography, Planning, or similar.
  • Proven experience in Transport Planning and development-related projects.
  • Proficiency with tools such as TRICS, Junctions (PICADY/ARCADY), and MS Excel.
  • Strong report writing skills - experience preparing Transport Assessments and Travel Plans.
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills.
  • Knowledge of local and national transport policy and design standards.
Desirable
  • 5+ years\' experience in the industry.
  • Experience with LinSig, GIS, AutoCAD, AutoTrack, or PDS Sign/Line.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. TPS, CIHT, IHE) and/or working towards chartership.
  • Experience leading client relationships and contributing to Section 106 negotiations.
