Job description
Overview

Westmorland and Furness Council is looking for three experienced and motivated individuals to join our Traffic Management Team as Senior Traffic Management Technicians, with opportunities available in Eden, South Lakeland, and Furness.

As part of our Sustainable Highways and Transport Service, you’ll play a key role in the design, development, and delivery of traffic management schemes across the region. This includes road safety and casualty reduction projects, parking schemes, and the processing of Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs).

Responsibilities
  • Designing and specifying traffic management measures, including signage, cycleways, and safety improvements.
  • Conducting surveys and analysing accident data to inform scheme development.
  • Liaising with internal teams, Councillors, stakeholders, and the public to ensure effective project delivery.
  • Providing technical advice and guidance on standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Supporting the Traffic Management Officer and Team Leader in developing work programmes and monitoring progress.

Additional Information
  • You may be required to attend evening meetings and travel across the whole Council area. A full UK driving license is necessary.
