Senior Test Design Engineer in Wimborne, Dorset

Location: Wimborne, Dorset


The Senior Test Design Engineer, based in Wimborne, Dorset, is responsible for designing, deploying, and documenting automated electrical test solutions for aerospace applications. The role focuses on LabVIEW-driven test systems and electrical hardware, supporting military programmes across the full product lifecycle in Wimborne, Dorset.


Key Responsibilities


  • Design and develop LabVIEW-based automated electrical tests for electronic components and systems.

  • Deliver electrical test activities from concept to introduction into service, ensuring safety, validation, and configuration control.

  • Support aerospace product development and verification for military applications.

  • Produce and maintain technical documentation for test requirements, designs, and procedures.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and mentor junior engineers.


Requirements


  • Engineering or science degree, or equivalent apprenticeship-based experience.

  • Minimum 7 years' experience in engineering or manufacturing environments.

  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, circuit diagrams, and test hardware design.

  • Proficient in LabVIEW, MS Word, and Excel.

  • Experience debugging analogue and digital electronics using lab instruments.
