A major energy supplier in London is seeking a Senior Technical Accounting Manager to provide technical accounting advice for complex transactions, lead projects to implement new standards, and work closely with finance teams. The ideal candidate is a qualified accountant with extensive IFRS expertise and strong communication skills. This role offers a competitive salary with bonuses and flexible working arrangements.

Reporting directly into the Head of Group External Reporting, the role will provide expert technical accounting advice for large and complex internal and external transactions, draft technical accounting papers and work through the resolution of papers with external auditors. The role will also lead projects to implement new accounting standards, develop new or amend existing group accounting policies and communicate those changes to empower accounting teams across the Group. This project aspect of the role will need strong project management skills and effective communication skills to work with cross-functional teams across National Grid.
The role will also work on the production of National Grid plc's half year results statement and full year Annual Report and Accounts (ARA) and 20F, preparing and reviewing disclosures and supporting Sox documentation and control evidence.
This role is based out of our Strand office, and we'd hope to see you at least 2/3 days per week but you're welcome to be in the office more often if that would work best for you. A competitive salary - depending on experience.
As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance with on target being 20% (with a maximum of 40%) and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
