Viator, a Tripadvisor company, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Systems Engineer to join our Engineering Platform Team. In this role, you will be instrumental in empowering our developers with the tools and processes necessary to maximize productivity and deliver exceptional business value. You will champion DevOps practices, fostering a collaborative culture of continuous improvement, and co-designing platform solutions with product teams to enhance developer productivity and drive business value.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with product teams to co-design platform solutions.
  • Promote DevOps practices and a culture of collaboration.
  • Lead infrastructure projects from end to end.
  • Mentor other engineers and define standards across teams.
  • Automate infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and incident review processes.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience as a systems, infrastructure, or platform engineer, or in a similar role.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (K8s) in a production environment.
  • Strong experience with AWS services (e.g., EC2, EKS, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS).
  • Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools, especially Terraform.
  • Experience with Helm for packaging and managing Kubernetes applications.
  • Comfortable with GitOps workflows, especially using tools like Argo CD.
  • Solid Linux systems knowledge.
  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
  • A mindset for automating everything.
  • Experience with monitoring/logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Datadog) or secrets management (e.g., HashiCorp Vault, AWS Secrets Manager).
  • Ability to lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and incident review processes.
