Overview

Job Title: Senior Systems Engineer

Location: Warton – Onsite

Salary: £47,683 dependent on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing: Designing and assisting in the build of prototypes, products and systems suitable for testing, including the development of new products using novel technologies. Carrying out system and sub-system validation and verification, including supporting system design reviews. Doing component/interface specification and selection. Application of Control Systems Engineering practices to ensure design safety, reliability, integration and performance requirements are met. Tailoring and developing Systems Engineering practices to suit the needs of a particular project / programme of work. Carrying out problem solving and providing timely corrective actions on all assigned defects and issues.

Responsibilities

• Designing and assisting in the build of prototypes, products and systems suitable for testing, including development of new products using novel technologies
• Carrying out system and sub-system validation and verification, including supporting system design reviews
• Specification and selection of components/interfaces
• Apply Control Systems Engineering practices to ensure design safety, reliability, integration and performance
• Tailor and develop Systems Engineering practices to suit the needs of a project or programme
• Problem solve and provide timely corrective actions on defects and issues

Qualifications

• Essential Degree, HND/HNC or equivalent experience in a STEM discipline
• Knowledge of Systems Engineering and the Engineering Lifecycle, typically applying subject knowledge in an integrated platform which may involve safety and/or cyber security related activities
• Exposure to working with stakeholders outside of the local team, nationally and/or internationally

Desirable

• Experience of working on complex computing solutions in areas such as systems management, avionics/IMA based solutions, systems integration, safety/cyber security and/or equivalent complex programmes
• Knowledge and experience in Object Oriented design and Model Based engineering tools and techniques
• Awareness of Engineering and business processes, familiarity with implications of decisions on time / cost / quality and ability to support timely and accurate performance reporting
